Chairman’s Vote of Thanks
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sure you will agree, that today has been a fantastic day away from the office!
We have had some excellent presentations and lively debate, which our Chairman for the day, Michael Grey, administered so eloquently.
On behalf of the Hong Kong Branch of the Nautical Institute, I would like to propose a Vote of Thanks.
As well as Michael Grey, I thank all the speakers for their contribution, and our very own organizing sub- committee – who have been planning this event for many months – John, you guys did a great job, and have set the bar for our next Conference.
John has asked me to thank Denise and May and all their colleagues at the Maritime Museum, led by Richard Wesley. I should also mention the furniture and audio equipment providers EON Events, and the caterers, Delicious Catering, ran by Dennis, who was assisted by the waiters who served us lunch, and the staff from Café 8 who kept us topped up with coffee and biscuits.
My thanks to them all, but also, thank you, for joining us today and supporting the Nautical Institute. If you are not a Member of the Institute, then I would urge you to consider joining. Perhaps you can also then help organize next year’s event!
Now, all that is left for me to say, is that ‘the bar is open upstairs’, complimentary drinks and canapes await courtesy of our sponsors, The Marshall Islands Registry. Please join me and my Institute colleagues in Café 8 upstairs, where we can continue to discuss manning and the related issues raised today.
